Will Adashek is a lighting designer, cinematographer, and colorist based in Los Angeles. Recent projects as post-production executive or producer include Hello, My Name Is Doris (Sally Field, Max Greenfield), Dean (Dimitri Martin, Gillian Jacobs), Buster's Mal Heart (Rami Malek), Burning Bodhi (Kaley Cuoco, Cody Horn), 400 Days (Dane Cook, Brandon Routh) and A Country Called Home (Imogen Poots). Recent music videos feature Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Fun., Boregore, Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber, Smashing Pumpkins, and Iggy Azalea. Recent TV includes the Netflix original series w/Bob and David starring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. As cinematographer he recently completed the feature film Gotta Get Down To It (Claire Fort, Damian Young).
In addition to his film work, Will is a frequent lighting designer for dance and theater. Recent dance and physical theater lighting credits include In A Room, On Me, Obstacles, One Pair Off, and Transfer, all for Jacob Jonas The Company where he is resident designer. His productions have toured extensively throughout North America, including performances at the Kennedy Center, The Wallis, Jacob's Pillow, Ford Theatres, and the Ailey Citigroup Theater. Recent theater lighting designs include Assassins, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Comedy of Errors, Side by Side, An Oak Tree, Grease, The Diviners, The Maiden’s Prayer, Private Eyes, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and One Night Stand. Will also designed the lighting for Sia’s 2021 “Pin Drop” music video.
Will has worked as a producer of dozens of films, new plays, musicals, and dance pieces around the world. His Los Angeles theater production of An Oak Tree, for which he also designed the lighting, was described by the Los Angeles Times as “a master class in acting” and by Variety as a “celebration of pure theater’s power…a fascinating must-see.” An Oak Tree included performances by Peter Gallagher, Alan Cumming, Jason Alexander, and Alanis Morissette. Will was also an associate producer of the feature film Buster’s Mal Heart, starring Rami Malek, which is available now on streaming platforms.
Will is a native of Los Angeles. He holds a B.A from Kenyon College and an M.F.A. in cinematography from the American Film Institute.
